Mario Montenegro

Mario Montenegro is a Peruvian-American actor, dancer and model. As a classical dancer he reached the rank of Principal Soloist with the Municipal Ballet of Lima (Peru) under Founder Artistic Director Lucy Telge, appearing in Swan Lake, Giselle, Coppelia, Carmen, Raymonda, Paquita, The Nutcracker and others from the classical repetiore. He trained with ballet masters from Cuba, Argentina, France, Russia, Peru and the United States. A class guest dancer with the National Ballet of La Havana of Cuba, Royal Winnipeg Ballet of Canada, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Ballet Hispanico, Miami City Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, the American Ballet Theatre, and others. Granted full scholarship with The Washington Ballet under Founder Artistic Director Mary Day. Also performed for The Washington Opera at the Kennedy Center and The Los Angeles Opera at the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion; dance performances include National Ballet of Maryland, Central Maryland School of Ballet, Maryland Ballet Theatre School of the Arts, Haddad Youth Ballet, Spanish Dance Society, Hispanic Heritage Awards, American University, Joy of Motion Dance Center, the Zarzuela Di Si dance company, and others.


His passion for acting includes studies at the National Dramatic Art School in Peru, and with Carole D’Andrea in Hollywood, performing in Film, Television, Theatre, Musical Comedy and Voice Over. Appearances include NBC’s Make your own Hero, Master P’s Post Office Mailman, Zona Zero’s The Devil’s Lottery, Weeds of Deceit and others.


Professionally he worked toward a degree in Business Administration and has experience as a general store manager, bank customer service representative and payroll officer in Washington, DC, and as a day spa manager in Washington, DC and Santa Monica, CA.
